Last spring my husband and I claimed a $500 gift card we won from a Facebook contest, courtesy of Hickory Point Bank. Almost a year has gone by, and I’m ready to share some progress…
The clawfoot tub was left in our basement by the previous homeowner. The inside was in great condition, but the outside was a mess. I cleaned up the inside, wire brushed, sanded, and TSP’d the exterior before priming and painting.
I originally wanted to paint the feet a crazy, fun color, but the hubby shot me down. My compromise was a two-tone look with metallic gold balls 🙂 Alex and I did all the floor and wall tiling ourselves. It’s hard, tedious work, but we saved a bundle by doing it ourselves.
One of my favorite things in this room is my tub shelf my dad made me. He does such beautiful woodwork and it’s so special to have a custom piece made with love and detail. Thanks daddy!
I fell in LOVE with this fox shower curtain from Society6 and I had to get it!
With the clawfoot tub I don’t have room for storing shampoos and such, but this cute little rolling cart from Ikea does the trick!
We still have the other half of the bathroom to do with the vanity and sink, closest, and laundry nook, but I’d say we got a pretty good start. A big thank you to everyone who voted for us to help get the $500! Stay tuned for a full reveal…I’m not making any promises for how soon that will be!
